Our scientific approach is multidisciplinary in nature, being based on the convergence of different methods of investigation: psychophysics, behavioral analysis, neuropsychology, functional neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and others. This allows formulating at best questions regarding the biological basis of cognitive functions.
Il sé corporeo è alla base della natura umana essendo ubiquitario ad ogni esperienza soggettva e l'oggetto più familiare che incontriamo. Emerge dall'interazione tra diversi meccanismi sensomotori e cognitivi. Noi abbiamo lo scopo di individuare la natura anatomofunzionale del sé corporeo. Il consumo di vino e cibo comincia dalla percezione, passa dalla creazione di una motivazione e termina in movimentiazione. Noi abbiamo lo scopo dianalizzare i meccanismi sottendenti il flusso percezione-motivazione-azione sotteso al comportamento del bere e del mangiare. Canis familiaris è un importante modello per esaminare domande different riguadanti l'evoluzione delle abilità cognitive. Abbiamo lo scopo di comprendere che cosa significhi essere un cane e come ciò si compara agli umani. Nel cuore della performance sportiva ci sono dinamiche molto complesse che includono meccanismi corporei e controllo neurale. Abbiamo lo scopo di studiare le relazioni tra il nostro sistema nervoso e la performance nelle attività sportive.
The bodily self stands at the root of human nature, ubiquitous to any subjective experiences and the most familiar object we encounter. It arises from the interplay between different sensorimotor and cognitive mechanisms. We aim at pinpointing the anatomofunctional nature of the bodily self. Food and wine consumption starts from perception, passes through creating motivation, and ends in actual movements. We aim to analyze the mechanisms subserving the perception-motivation-action flow underpinning any eating/drinking behavior. Canis familiaris is an important model to examine different questions regarding the evolution of cognitive abilities. We aim to understand what it is like to be a dog and how it compares to humans. Complex dynamics involving body mechanics and neural control are at the heart of sports performances. We aim to study the relationship between our nervous systems and performance in sporting activities.
