Cognitive and physical dysfunctions are critical aspects causing frailty.Frailty increases the risk of cognitive dysfunction suggesting a dynamic interaction between cognition and frailty in a progressive decline associated with aging.
GAIA-MENTE, through newly implemented ICT- devices, will be able to outline the presence of mild dysfunctions to act on this vicious circle.
100 subjects enrolled in UNITRE and in typical cognitive aging will be studied.
GAIA-MENTE will have a positive impact on the territory: healthservices will be able to define new programs so as to improve active-healthy ageing.
1) An assessment phase will analyze the cognitive- physical-status of partecipants through a newly implemented computerized neuropsychological/psychogeriatric test battery.
2) A piloting rehabilitation phase will be performed on a group of 25 subjects through the use of specific ICT-cognitive games. 3) A follow-up assessment will be performed to verify any difference in the health status and the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program.
